HAPPY NEW YEAR

Well its a new year, about time I started to update my blog again. Lots has happened, not much that is interesting as usual, but here goes.

See my previous post in October - I was right, Joe did win the X-Factor... sad I know, but I was right.  Lovely voice, he deserved to win.

House - the house we are renovating is moving slowly.  The garden is looking good, greenhouse frame is up, vegetable raised borders marked out and fences up.  We have planted an almond, apricot, new red skin pear, plum and a peach tree in the orchard, which is now all fenced and ready for the chickens to move in.

The house itself is a mess - the roof has been retiled and felted, all the cracks are filled in but now it needs painting - that will have to wait for the spring.

We have started to take down the ceilings and next will be the plaster off the walls.  That won't take much effort as it is falling off by itself...

And I've been busy taking uptodate maths and english qualifications.  I am now doing a computer course.  I've passed Word and Excel and am now doing Powerpoint.  I'm enjoying learning something new - hopefully I will be able to find a new job where I can use my new found skills.

As for hobbies - the spinning is going well.  I'm knitting like mad (still not finished the second sock..... one day), I've lost count of the number of dishcloths knitted in the past year...  Last year I gave most of them away as presents, perhaps I should have done the same this year!

My latest knitting though is bags.  I've got so much hand spun yarn that I decided to knit myself a bag.  A couple of friends commented on it and so guess what they got for Christmas!

Thats all for now.

The sheetrock crew is working on our addition right now....I sympathize over the renovation woes but it will be great when it is finished!! Not boring at all....
