The last of the Corriedale

I've been carding and then spinning up some Corriedale fleece I bought off Ebay some time ago.  After months of only spinning grey Shetland, the lovely creamy white Corriedale made a nice change.  Its a lovely fleece to spin with.

I finished carding it last night and can spin today - its the ideal day to do so as its been snowing again.

The chickens don't seem to mind though.

I took this photo when it had just started snowing, its completely covered now, but although they can go inside anytime they want, they seem to prefer being outside.  They seem to love eating snow!

How healthy the hens look now-they have their own coats this winter! The first fiber I spun was corriedale; it is lovely to spin and wear!

Woouldn't it be wonderful to have a little alpaca hobby farm? Heck I'm even jealous of your chickens. I would love some silkies but, alas, they are not permitted in the burbs.
Oh how I would love to know how to spin. I have my great great granny's spinning wheel and don't have a clue how to use it.
