Failed first attempt at dying wool......

I wanted to try dying some of my yarn, so spun just some of the white part of the Jacob's fleece and bought some blue food colouring.

Of course I only roughly read online instructions on using food colouring, and looking back I should have paid more attention. I used a whole bottle of blue, boiling water and vinegar but now realise the constant heat is what was missing.

Well is sort of very light bluish..... if compared to the normal black and white.... imagination is needed. I also don't know whether UK food colouring is the same as the US version. Next time I will buy some proper wool dye.
