I'm Susan and I live in a small village north of Norwich, UK. My main hobbies are reading, gardening, spinning and knitting, though not necessarily in that order....

More garden destruction, and a little reading....

The sun was shining and we got sunburnt again, even with the factor 20 suntan lotion... It could only mean one thing, yes we were back at the new house trying to tame the neglected garden. This time we were tackling the orchard. There are cooking and eating apples, pears, cherries and plums. All old trees and have been neglected for many, many years, but there is fruit coming. We keep making piles of branches everywhere.... I never thought I would be lucky enough to one day live in a house with its own orchard! Ok so it will be a few years until the house is put right, but one day... and in the meantime we can enjoy the garden.

Unfortunately most of the orchard was full of stinging nettles, some as tall as 4 foot. A lot of strimming and raking up, and now it looks much
better. We even found a tiny Wren's nest in some ivy, complete with chicks.

Of course once the orchard was cleared, I just had to sit and read in the sunshine. Birds were singing and it was lovely.

Oh, it looks lovely! A lot of work but it is good you have vision for the finished results-
