Finally I got round to trying some home dyeing with wool. I had saved a lot of onions skins but decided this time to use daffodils as they are now finishing in the garden.
No, that didn't make much colour as obviously I needed more, so in went some of the onion skins. What a whiff. The whole house smells now of wet wool, gone off daffodils and horrible onions... yuk, but the colour is lovely..... just going to let it cool overnight and see what its like in the morning.
