Woven "jewel" bag.

You may recall that some time ago a I made a blue woven bag on my peg loom. I use the bag all the time and thought it was about time I made another.

Using a 2ply blend of Dorset Poll which is a lovely cream, and a ball of shop bought "ladder" yarn, I am making a bag which I am calling my "jewel" bag because of the lovely rich colours. The mixture of cream wool and shiny yarn gives a strong but colourful mix.

Just working on the i-cord handle now and then it will be finished.

If it comes out as good as the blue bag then I may put it on Etsy. I have opened an account but not done anything with it yet. It could be my first "item for sale".

Will have to see how it goes...

Woven bag finished at last.....

I started making a bag some time ago using my peg loom. Amazingly it has turned out just as I hoped it would.

I used two strands of an acrylic mohair type yarn I had in my stash and once finished I turned the top and bottom edges over to neaten, then oversewed for strength. Two i-cord handles, a couple of chunky wooden buttons and its finished.

I'm really pleased with it and need to make some more.

What I am working on...

I'm having fun using my Peg Loom at the moment. I'm using a fluffy mohair (acrylic) type yarn, doubled up, and I am planning on making it into a bag when its finished.



I bought the loom a while back but haven't really used it. Its quite relaxing, and easy to use on your lap whilst watching tv.

Finally finished Mum's scarf, which started off as a cowl. The yarn is Blueface Leicester which I spun up myself, 2ply. Its come out really soft and I am sure she will like it.
I'm finally knitting some socks. Its a lacy pattern from a sock calendar I received as a freebie in my Simply Knitting magazine a few months back. Being useless with dpn's, these are knitted mainly on straight needles until you reach the foot. I am almost at that point so have no idea what will happen when I have to transfer onto the dpn's..... help....


The yarn is a blend of 70/30 dark brown alpaca with some Welsh Mule in white. It was then made into a 2ply with single Welsh Mule. Its come out a nice varigated twist.
